Overview
The TensarTechTW3 Wall System delivers substantial savings, as well as long-term durability and architectural versatility, compared to other retaining wall construction methods.
The system is comprised of a pre-cast concrete modular block facing, securely connected to Tensar uniaxial geogrids which reinforce the soil behind, to create a stable structure with up to 120 year design life.
TheTensarTechTW3concrete facing blocks, which forma near vertical (128:1)faceangle, are simplydry-laid. No propping of the face is required. No cranes are required for construction:the 40kg weight of the standard 200mm high block is suitable for two-manhandling.Their block geometry allows corners, curves, stairs and other features to be incorporated easily, with a variety of colours available.
System Components
The TensarTech TW3Systemincludes advice, training and services from Tensar’s design and on-site teams, as well as four specific products.These are Tensar uniaxial geogrids (high-density polyethylene with extremely high durability and no corrosion potential), TensarTech TW3 modular blocks (high-strength, durable factory-produced precast concrete blocks), TensarTech TW3 connectors (for high-strength connections between blocks and geogrid reinforcement), and GRP dowel pins for interconnecting blocks. Compared to theTensarTech TW1 Modular Wall System, the TW3 system offers enhanced structural stability and load-bearing capacity, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring greater durability and support

Single Source Solution
The components of the TensarTech TW3 system have been specifically designed to work together for optimum efficiency and performance. High-strength, low-absorption concrete blockswith GRP dowel pins, high strengthpolymerconnectors, and Tensar uniaxial geogrids work together to form a reinforced soil wall system that meets or exceeds the industry standard. No Fuss - No Risk Construction– Simple and Rapid
Contractorsappreciatethe constructability ofTensarTech TW3systems. The modular block facing requires no heavy lifting equipment and the block geometry makes placement and alignment of thefacingstraightforward. Placement of thegeogrid reinforcement and connection to the block face requires no specialist skills. The rest is straightforward earthworks. Typically, no structuralfoundation is necessary,mobilisationcosts are minimal and staged construction is easily accommodated. Tensar can provide detailed construction drawings as part of the design and supply service. And site assistance is available when needed. No fuss, simple and quick.
The Strength Behind the TensarTech TW3System: Tensar Uniaxial Geogrid
Tensar uniaxial geogrids are manufactured from select grades of HDPE resins that are highly oriented and resist deformation when subjected toevenhigh tensile loads for long periods of time. Their open aperture structure interlocks with natural fill materials, making them ideal for reinforced soil applications. The high pH associated with concrete blocks does not affect the durability and functionality of HDPE geogrid reinforcement duringalifeof up to 120 years.

Highway Authorities Product ApprovalScheme (HAPAS) was set up in 1995 to recogniseinnovative products and systems used inUKhighway works.It leads toa Certificate or Report which provides highway engineers with product performance, design and installation data invaluable to the product choice and project planning processes.The TensarTech TW3 Systemand selected Tensar uniaxial geogrids havebeencertified by the British Board ofAgrément(BBA) and awarded HAPAS approval. The BBAcertifies thatTensar geogridsand the TensarTech TW3 systemhave been evaluated independently as fit for their intended use.
